Guardian Homes

We are going in a new direction with our breeding program. We would like to put our dogs in pet homes where they can receive more one-on-one time with families who can give them the time and attention they deserve. We love our babies and they are very well socialized, but we want more for them. This program is a great way to get a sweet puppy at a very affordable price.

To be considered for our guardian program, you would need to fill out the guardian form, live within 50 miles of Wheaton, MO, and agree to all the meet the contract requirements. Before contacting, please read the guardian contract.

Guardian Contract Requirements

Our guardian program offers the very best quaility we and other high end breeders have to offer. Our top pick males and females will be saved for this program. All of our dogs/puppies will be fully health tested at our expense. Here is how it works...

1. I would like for guardian homes to be within a 50 mile radius of Wheaton, MO (some exceptions may apply).

2. You must allow your puppy/dog to be taken off your property for tests, collection, and whelping (we don't have you whelp the puppies due to risks). Prelimary testing will be done at 6 months, when we will decide whether to continue them in our program. Any puppy that doesn't meet our requirements will be spayed/neutered and left in your care. Any puppy that passes all the testing will continue in our program.

Females: I will hold onto all documentation for this puppy/dog until the contract is complete. You will notify me when your female comes in to heat. If it is the first heat and she is still very young, you will keep her and make sure she doesn't come into contact with any unaltered male dogs, but still contact me so I can make documentation. If she is ready for breeding, I will bring her home with me on the 1st day of her cycle and will keep her for 1-2 weeks for breeding. I will bring her back to you when breeding is complete. She will come back to whelp with me 1 week before her due date (63 days gestation is a full term pregnancy). I will keep her while while she whelps her puppies and until weaning (6-7 weeks). She will have a bath and grooming session before she goes back home. I will pay for all breeding expenses and will choose which pairings will take place.

I will breed females between 3-5 times during our contract, based on several different factors. It will be different for each situation. Once the female has completed her whelping phase, she will be spayed at my expense and all documents (registration papers, OFA testing, etc.) will be transferred over to you and she will be able to live out the rest of her life as your spoiled, pampered companion. All veterinary bills from this point will be at your expense.

Males: All of the same will apply with the males, but the time they are with me will be less. They will just come with me for testing, collection, and breeding, and then be returned home to your loving arms. Males will not be bred with any females that are unauthorized by us due to many canine diseases. Males will breed for 4-5 years, depending on certain factors. Once the male has completed his contract, he will be neutered at my expense and all documentation will be turned over to you. All veterinary bills from this point will be at your expense.

3. The variety of breeds we have/will have available for adoption...

Red American Golden Retriever females, English Golden Retriever females, Bernese Mountain Dog females, Mini & Toy Poodle Males, F1 Mini Goldendoodles, F1 Mini Bernedoodles

Currently I have (2) 3/4 English Golden Retrievers I would like to find guardian homes for. They have puppies now, but would be ready for their guradian homes the end of March. They are doggie door trained and would really benefit from a home with a big fenced in yard. They know how to use a doggie door, so that would definitely be a great additive. I would only breed them for 3-4 more litters. They are sisters, excellent mothers, great with kids, cats, and other dogs, love knuckle bones, love water and LOVE to fetch! They do not travel well, they still get motion sickness everytime we go to the vet. I would like to have them go to separate homes, but would consider letting them go together if a family was interested in 2. Accepting applications now!

F1 Mini Goldendoodles and Bernedoodles will be available for our guardian program this fall if everything goes as hoped. We would list to start a list for those. Our plan is to 2 Mini red Goldendoodle females and 2 Mini tri-colored Bernedoodle females available for the guardian program fall 2017. We would like to start taking applications for those placements.

We will have a tri-colored Mini Poodle male available for our guardian program and a merle colored Mini Poodle male this spring or summer 2017. We would like to start taking applications for those guardian homes as well.

4. The cost for a guardian home is $518. This shows you are committed to this dog/puppy and will give it the proper care. This money will be used toward testing, vaccinations, health certificate, etc. You will be required to pay for your pet's regular health maintenance: food, annual vet visits and vaccinations, grooming, etc. Once this dog/puppy is retired, it will belong to you with no strings attached. You will receive all the documentation. They will be spayed/neutered at retirement at our expense.

5. Quailifying for a Guardian Home:

  • Guardians must have previous dog experience
  • Guardians must  own and live in a home with a fully fenced yard
  • Guardians must keep the dog on a leash or in a fenced in area
  • Guardians must be willing to tain the dog the very basic obedience commands (off, down, sit, back, leave it, crate, etc.)
  • Guardians must ensure the puppy is socialized to adults, children, and other animals
  • Guardians must provide appropiate veterinary or emergency care when needed
  • Guardians must feed the dog a diet approved by the breeder which woul dbe any of the high end grain free dog food brands available at your local feed store or pet store
  • Guardians must be able and willing to identify and notify uss immediately when a female begins her heat cycle
  • Guardians must not allow a female in heat around intact males
  • Guardians must communicate, cooperate and coordinate with the breeder regarding testing, mating, whelping, and other breeding related activities

6. After reading the complete contract and qualifying for a guardian home based on the list provided, please fill out the guardian form to get started. Filling out the form, does not mean a dog or puppy will be placed in your care. We will compare applications and try to find a great fit for each dog or puppy. We may also like to do a home visit and meet you before deciding to place a puppy. We take this very serious and hope you will too.
